Welcome to our web site and Edgewood Primary & Nursery School. This is a developing venture for our school and we would like to feel that it would be useful for parents, children, members of the community and anyone who would like to know about us. If you have anything you would like to have included, please let me know.
Our aim for the web site is initially one of communication; to provide members of the school community with another means of gaining information about the school. I would also hope that some elements would be interactive, as well as dates, events and information supplied by the children.
Our school is a learning community for everyone and your child will come to realise that the experiences they have both in and out of school will contribute to their learning. We believe that everyone in our school is special and that children will learn best in a safe, secure and happy environment.
Our school building also houses a Leisure Centre open to the public, run by a private company SLM and Ashfield district council, and a public library, run by Notts County Council. This means all children at Edgewood have the chance to learn to swim and visit the library on a regular basis as well as having access to after-school and holiday activities.
We think it is important to provide stimulating and varied learning experiences for all our children so they will be motivated and enthusiastic learners to help them on their path as successful and happy, life long learners. We have high expectations of children both in their work and their behaviour. We think it is important for children to communicate well and to build successful and thoughtful relationships with each other. We hope you will share these values and that you will want to work in partnership with us to support your child's education.
